Working Approach

In both courses the students worked in small teams. Each team was responsible for one part of the text. They worked on their translations together and revised each others translations.

English native speakers were present to help out the German students with translating. Before handing in the drafts, they were once more proofread by a former teacher from Germersheim, who was also a English native speaker.

The teacher of the translation course totally renounced, according to the constructivist approach, from all 'chalk and talk' teaching and only helped out, when necessary. He was in charge of the general organisation and coordination between the teams and the client.
