Doctoral studies and habilitation
A doctorate (Dr. phil.) program is also offered by the FTSK. Support for young academics is made available in the form of doctoral fellowships offered by the Faculty and special programs for doctoral students (for example colloquia and lecture series). In addition, regular supra-departmental qualification programs run by the University of Mainz are also available to doctoral students in Germersheim. The university’s general doctoral college offers workshops in areas like presentation skills development and rhetoric, project and time management, scientific writing, the fundamentals of scientific theory, information and knowledge management, and conflict and communication. Program details are available at: www.promotionsstudien.uni-mainz.de.
The requirements for admission to the doctoral program are outlined in the doctoral studies regulations: http://www.fb06.uni-mainz.de/ze/pruef/promfach.html.
